Installations / Bioengineering

Aside from producing native wetland plants in our greenhouse and nursery, K & S specializes in full installation of these plants into their new environment. We are CORE certified with an experienced and enthusiastic planting crew with 50+ years of collective experience. We are also able to provide training for your team on specific wetland installations.

Riparian and Aquatic Plants

Location is key. Most wetlands species will do best if installed in their ideal moisture conditions, which creates challanges in Southern Alberta’s arid climate in which they can often fluctuate wildly through the season. Once successfully established, they are much more tolerant of the fluctuations. Knowing where and when and how to install gives the best chance of success

Live Willow Staking/Bioengineering

K & S has successfully installed tens of thousands of live stakes and poles as well as fascines, brushlayers, and pallisade walls with live willow and poplar material. Our team and specialized equipment can install to depth up to 2M without damage to the materials. Like any other wetland plant species, location and hydrology are extremely important to overall viability.
