Today we stumbled upon a blue heron nesting ground, two great horned owls (I think), and a cow and calf moose In the middle of the southern Alberta prairie. Surrounded by grazing and cultivated pastures, a farmer fenced off a few acres leaving this

Happy Earth Day from all of us at K & S Growers. These baby wetland, grass, and native forb species are growing fast to be planted for revegetation, rehabilitation and reclamation projects this summer 🙌🏻🌱

The hairbingers of spring, the prairie crocuses (anemone patens) are up! At first just appearing as furry shoots before they fully open, look for these guys on warm somewhat sandy south facing slopes. The buffalo beans should be soon to follow. ❤️
