Hard Stem Bulrush

can be found in swamps, marshes, wet ditches, and lakes. It grows submerged and can withstand temporary flooding but does not fair well in dry soil. Hard Stem Bulrush is useful for water filtration, and is also useful at stabilizing water levels as their porous roots can absorb large amounts of water. They can grow to heights of 300cm and will produce small flowers at the top of the stem. We recommend that they be planted in soil submerged by 25cm to 100cm of water.
